Prayer requests

Hello,

Thank you all for your prayers! We desire and need your prayers daily.

Today 2 Roma men (Janek & Rafal) and myself returned from Slovakia. God allowed us to share the gospel message with many Roma people. Today we found a new village ( Lomnicka, Slovakia) tucked up in between some large mountains. This village has 7000 Roma people. We were quickly surrounded by people and they were amazed that God would send us to them to tell them about Jesus. There is a Catholic church in their large village, but no one we talked to had anything good to say about the church or the Priest.
We gave out several DVD's of the Jesus film in 16 Roma language dialects and several New Testaments on CD in MP3 format. The people were very grateful for the DVD's and CD's.
Pray as we return and discuss the Jesus film, that God will open hearts and homes to us to continue ministering there.
Please pray for continued safety as we enter these large villages. We are extremely out numbered, but we have a mighty God that we serve!

Please pray for Janek and his family as they all travel to England tomorrow (12/08/11) until after the New Year. The Roma group of believers in Nottingham, England will have a baptism on December 23rd. We are rejoicing in what God is doing in this group in England!

Please continue to pray for our daughter Kari and her health issues. God knows the details.

Please pray for our daughter Tara in KY, she is 6 months pregnant and has had tests that cause concern for her health.

We pray for you all. We are also praying that you all seize every moment and opportunity to share the good news to all people in your areas. This is the holiday season of the celebration of the birth of Jesus. People are more open to the gospel this time of year.
People are also hurting more this time of year, as they celebrate Christmas without loved ones who have passed away this year.
We have the greatest message to proclaim to the whole world. I pray we share that message as much as possible.

We love you all and thank you all for your prayers!!!!!

Our cat's new home

Mocca, our cat for the past 5 years has a new home in the rural country side of Poland. She will live with a great family and she will have many farm animal friends.
This family is a super nice family that I have been sharing with for 1 1/2 years. We pray that God will bless this family more and more as they are a blessing to many people and animals.

Watch the video and pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ

We are one body. When a part of our body is hurting and suffering, we all are effected. Do you feel the pain? Pray for one another. Spread the word about the persecution. Weep and mourn when our body is hurting and take a stand. Do we weep when 40,000 members of our body are brutally murdered each?
We will always suffer persecution when we live for Jesus in this fallen world. Share the good news of the gospel so that souls can be saved.

Here is the link to a video we all need to watch.

Polish Independence day

Today is an important day in Poland's history.
In 1918, after 123 years of occupation, the Polish state was reborn and regained its independence. Autumn 1918 marked the end of World War I and the defeat of all three occupiers.

Souls saved

On All Soul's day, in a cemetery in eastern Poland. 30 Roma were gathered together for the traditional holiday festivities associated with All Soul's Day.
When a Roma believer (Jan) was asked why he is not lighting candles and praying for the souls of the dead, Jan replied with " I pray for those who are still alive. I pray they will trust Jesus and receive eternal life. These graves contain bodies of skin and bones, there are not any souls in these graves."
Jan shared the gospel message and his testimony. 6 Roma adults began to weep and shouted "We need this same salvation you have". Jan shared the word of God and the 6 repented and prayed for salvation of their souls.
Please lift up these new believers as they grow in their faith. Also pray for Jan as he will be leading the discipleship of this new group.

Pray for the Slovakian Roma

Please continue to lift up Rafal & Janek and myself as we engage Roma people in central Slovakia. There are several thousands of Roma people living in small clusters among the mountains. Pray God will grant us favor and give protection as we reach out with the gospel message. So far after 1 1/2 years of sharing the gospel message, we have no person of peace or persons of good will. No open homes yet either. We speak on the streets and on the edges of villages. We have not been welcomed into any homes yet. We know that in God's timing He will open hearts and homes.
We covet your prayers.
Thank you!

Virginians, Polish guys, and a Malaysian sister...

We had a great time of ministry. God has been using many different nationalities to work together as one for the glory of God. Building His kingdom with brothers and sisters in Jesus from many different countries, languages and cultures is amazing.

Another new visitor

It was also a blessing to listen to some good music by Roma people. I am glad to see them earning some money while blessing people with music.
I hope you enjoy the video.

New Visitor near our apartment

We have lived in this same neighborhood for 8 years this September 3rd. We have never seen either of these 2 types of visitors in our neighborhood. It was neat to see a baby hawk land so close to us.

What you sow, you shall reap

When we share God's life transforming word and His love to others, we often are rewarded with love in return.
Investing our lives into others lives makes this world a better place. Often we see people trust Jesus as their Savior and Lord and we gain a new brother or sister in Jesus.
We enjoy seeing God's family grow, one soul at a time!

We all were blessed to be at a Roma wedding of two young people we have know for many years now. Michal and Janka's son was married. It was a time of praising God, singing, dancing, and prayer.
Brenda and I and 5 Roma from Szaflary (southern Poland) traveled to Western Poland to Michal's apartment. It was a great reunion since our last Roma family 2 years ago.
Pray that Dennis and Karolina will continue to grow in the faith as they walk with Jesus.

Roma culture festival

Andrzej Mirga from Szaflary (Roma leader) and I were asked to speak about the Roma culture to a crowd of students and people who attended a Roma cultural festival.
I was able to share some of my testimony with the gospel message and how God had called my family to Poland to share God's plan of salvation to the Roma people.
I also shared about all the life transforming work God has done in the past 7 years here in Eastern Europe among the Roma people.
Andrzej shared his testimony and about the Roma culture.
Staszek Gluszek also shared how God began the Roma work in Poland starting 13 years ago with a man named Timo, from Finland, up to Staszek's family's involvement and all that God is doing through Staszek and his wife Zosia and their family with Roma projects, ie; Roma school, scouting, etc.
The time and words shared brought awareness of the Roma life to many Polish people who were interested in the Roma culture.
Pray that God will speak to the hearts of many Polish people. Our prayer and vision is that true spiritual revival of Europe will begin with the Roma people being a living testimony of the power and mercy of God.

Mirek is now with Jesus

Mirek was a faithful Roma leader of a Roma church plant in Brno, Czech Republic.
This photo is of Mirek in Poland at a Roma family Camp we held last summer.
Mirek was taken home to Heaven. His race has finished.
Pray the Roma church will grow even stronger as they all miss the leadership and love of a brother in Christ.

Pray for Halina as she returns to her home town and reunites with her family there.
We will miss them both very much. We are thankful to God for saving them!
The good thing is we will all be reunited in Heaven again someday!
Thanks and glory be to our great God!
